Las Vegas…

The gambling rooms in Las Vegas are literally timeless; there are no windows and no clocks to remind the unwary of how long his or her money has been at risk. Emerging from the dim lighting of the room are the brightly colored machines, designed to draw gamblers like bees to a flower. In a way, some of them seem to me to be like a kind of folk art. Well, maybe that’s elevating it too high, but in any event, they’re intriguing, and here are a few of my favorites.
